Dillish Matthews has emerged the winner of the 2013 edition of the Big Brother Africa reality show.
After 91-days of intense drama, competition, friendship, nudity, and don’t forget the sex, the Namibian representative on the eight season of the show tagged ‘The Chase’ was crowned winner.
Wearing a blue dress, Dillish could not contain her excitement when BBA’s host, IK Osakioduwa announced her as winner.
The 22-year-old Psychology student beat her fellow housemates to win the $300,000 prize money, closely followed by Cleo who was the first runner-up and Elikem as second runner-up.
Perhaps due to her beauty, the Namibian beauty somehow managed to survive five evictions on her way to the grand finale.
Meanwhile, Elikem has won the prize of $10,000 for being the ‘Most Romantic Housemate’ in Big Brother – The Chase.
The Ghanaian won the prize money after he was voted for by the viewers all across the African continent
Besides the prize money, Elikem also walks away with a five-night, all expenses paid, stay in a luxury room at the Sarova White Sands Hotel in Mombasa, Kenya.
He will also receive two return air tickets courtesy of Rwanda Air as well as spending money. Elikem who came in the third position says he’ll be sharing his prize with Pokello.
The show finale which took place on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in South Africa saw the studio audience and millions of viewers across Africa treated to great performances from Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince, Ghana’s pop duo, R2Bees, Ugandan rap star, Keko and mixes from South Africa’s DJ Ganyani.
Nigeria’s representatives, Melvin Oduah and Beverly however lost out in the race for the grand prize as they placed fourth and fifth respectively.
The BBA house was opened on Sunday, May 26, 2013 with 28 contestants from 14 countries.
