Chocolate City And Loopy Music Merge + Audu Maikori Steps Down As Choc’ City’s C.E.O

The famous record labels ‘loopy music’ and ‘Chocolate City’ announced the grand business merger of the two labels The new label will have Audu Maikori step down as CEO of Chocolate City Music effective June 2015, followed by the announcement of a new CEO.

The move brings together MI, Jesse Jagz, Ruby Gyang, Loose Kaynon, Ice Prince, Nosa, DJ Caise, Dice Ailes, Milli , Koker ,Victoria Kimani and DJ Lambo under one business umbrella. The grand announcement was made at the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Conference on April 22, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The merged group used the opportunity at the Nigerian Entertainment Conference to announce a compilation album featuring all the artistes under the newly merged label which will be out soon.



At the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Conference, Choc’ City’s C.E.O, Audu Maikori officially announced his stepping down as the C.E.O of the entertainment company.

In his words below:

“At this point I have decided to step down as CEO of Chocolate City to allow for the younger generation to steer the ship. My resignation takes effect from June, but I wont disclose who will take over from me until then

I have headed Chocolate City for the past 10 years and its been the most amazing period of my life despite the many challenges that came with it. There were times, I would get home and wished I wouldn’t have to go to work the next day. Some other times, artistes will need money and even though unavailable, we still have to find a way

At Chocolate City, we have adopted what I will like to call the “360 deal” approach. This caters for the artiste as a brand in totality and seeks to promote and better his craft, sales, management, endorsement as well as appeal to fans, rather than just sell his albums”
